How to Set Up an Email in cPanel

This article and the video will show you how to set up an email in cPanel.
In this quick video, I show you how to set up an email account in cPanel, and also how to forward that email address to another email, such as your regular Gmail address.
To create a new email address:
- from the cPanel window, in the Mail section, go to Email Accounts
- in the Email section, enter the email name you wish to create
- enter a strong password, and click Create Account
Rather than setting up a separate email client, or accessing cPanel’s built-in webmail clients, many people prefer to use their existing email accounts, by forwarding emails from their newly created account to another account (eg. Their Gmail account).
To forward one email to another:
- from the cPanel window, in the Mail section, go to Forwarders
- click on Add Forwarder
- enter the address that you want to forward emails from (it must be an email address on this hosting account)
- enter the address that you want to forward emails to
- click on Add Forwarder
If set up correctly, it will then show the message –
“All email sent to your-email@gmail.com will forward to your-other-email@gmail.com”
So this explains how to send emails to your preferred email account (eg. Gmail), so that you can read all your emails from the one account. For instructions on how to send emails from your new account from within your preferred Gmail account, please click here.
